What Are We Really Doing Online?
Feedback form is now closed.
How do seemingly smart people behave so un-intelligently online? What is it about the online world that makes us suspend our disbelief in reality, increase our faculty of denial and put us in situations we would not normally find ourselves in the "offline world". Are we putting too much faith in the people on the other side of the screen, and how do we get the message across to students that things aren't always the way they appear?

This presentation will look at a recent case in Singapore involving an online dating scam and how two people were arrested, three hearts were broken, and one person became so much wiser into what is really going on online.
