Turning Standards-Based Grading Philosophy into Practice
Feedback form is now closed.

Over the past four years, Nansha College Preparatory Academy has drawn on the work of Marzano, Wormeli, Guskey, O'Connor, and others to implement software supporting standards-based grading. This presentation will explain how NCPA has operationalized standards-based grading through JumpRope, PowerTeacher Pro and Gradecam. Participants will create their own rough policies for standards-based grading and implement them using JumpRope, a free standards-based gradebook for teachers.  Participants will leave with sample policies and report cards and will be prepared to iterate their rough draft policies to apply at their own schools.

Outcomes:
  • Create and compare policies that support SBG
  • Evaluate how features of online gradebooks support SBG
  • Identify software that helps teachers and schools implement SBG
