The Cold Hard Facts about Choice & Play
Feedback form is now closed.

Have you ever experienced a kindergarten student talk passionately about what they learned and did in school?

Most children begin their schooling careers with a sense of awe and anticipation. But research reveals that the longer students stay in school, the less likely they are to attend and feel engaged in their classes often because they lack a sense of agency over their own learning.

Providing students with choices is empowering. Having fun can lead to more effective information processing and long-term memory storage. Self-directed learning can aid in the development of original work, collaboration, and confidence as knowledge-builders.

This interactive workshop draws on brain-based research about the learning process and will immerse participants in authentic examples of classroom projects and strategies focused on fostering students’ independence through choice and play.
