Student Led Innovation

Many believe innovative ideas come to a select few, but in reality innovation is the result of persistent effort. Design Thinking is a versatile approach to sparking innovation through a sequential process and is fast becoming an essential literacy. This session will showcase the Double Diamond Model (Design Council, 2015) and how this thinking routine 
can empower learners of all ages to innovate and think divergently about seeking and solving problems.

Walk away from this session with an insight into Design Thinking and its application to harnessing the power of student voice. Using human centred design principles to develop enterprise wide strategy to better meet the needs of learners.  Participants will leave this session with a deeper understanding of Design Thinking and how it can be used to promote STEAM across the lower and middle years as well as the development of strategic direction of Firbank Grammar school, Melbourne, Australia.
